SideQuests Magazine to launch in January 2026

The spirit of philosophy demands that we reflect on all aspects of life, even those that are currently considered to fall outside the scope of academic research. In keeping with this spirit, a collective of South African academic philosophers will be launching SideQuests: A Magazine of Philosophical Reflections in January 2026. The aim of the magazine is to open a creative space where philosophers from all walks of life can explore their cares and interests – philosophy for daily life, if you will – independent of the current academic milieu, while at the same time bringing philosophy to a broader audience.
